T-birds pelt Edmonton for 4-1 win
EDMONTON, Alberta - Seattle took 49 shots, including 19 in the first period, to overcome Edmonton in a 4-1 victory in Western Hockey League action Sunday at Rexall Place.
Robin Figren scored first for the Oil Kings, at 1:42 of the first period, and Seattle (9-9-3-1) answered with a power-play goal by Greg Scott at 13:51. The Thunderbirds were 2 for 8 on power-play attempts; Edmonton couldn’t capitalize on the power play.
Seattle took the lead for good with a score from Bud Holloway at 5:47 of the second period. In the third period, David Richard, with help from Jeremy Boyer and Jim O’Brien, scored on the power play. Jan Eberle added a solo shot at 14:57.
Seattle goalie Jacob DeSerres made 25 saves.
